Easter - April 8

Last Easter was great. Elise was 6 months, Jude 2.5 and it was our first real time having Jude hunt for eggs. He loved it, more than I had thought he would. So this year, I wasn't surprised to see Elise get into it, especially after her practise hunting eggs the day before.
We were hosting my family for Easter turkey dinner and so my mom had come over early to help get the turkey in the oven early.

Elise was really good at finding eggs.

Elise was able to eat dessert!! No ice-cream!

Jude picking out his piece of cake.

After dinner cuddles.

Fort Edmonton Park's Egg hunt - April 7

We had the best time at this years Ft Edmonton Easter Egg Hunt. It's a tickets event and we've never gotten tickets. Usually it sells out really fast.
This year we were lucky enough to get tickets with my sister and her family.
We had the best time!!
Jude loved it. Anytime he hangs out with Wyatt, he has a blast so I wasn't worried about him. Elise I thought might be a bit young to really "get it."
Boy was I wrong.  She LOVED it!! She was right in there finding eggs with everyone else, even better than Jude at some points.
Each kid could collect 10 eggs and then trade them in for candy. They were hidden all over the park. There was also a bunch of games and fun in the hangar and a scavenger hunt around the park for more candy. Jude and Wyatt LOVED that part. Being sneaky and checking off their scavenger hunt with bingo dabbers, they were in heaven.
Waiting to get in.

Bouncy castles in the hangar. Elise had this one all to herself.

Airbrushed tattos

Dragon tattoo.

Picnic lunch outside.

So nice to be outdoors at the park again.

Elise had a great time pushing him!

Elise had a great time searching for eggs.

Waiting to cash in their eggs.

Good thing we brought the biggest stroller. We had a lot to carry, just no kids!

Jude found a special golden egg.

Slow walk back to the car after a great day!

Easter eggs - April 6

My kids are too young for making easter eggs. I know that now.
That doesn't mean we didn't try.

Waiting for our eggs to dye.

"Guess what letter I am?"

Snow! - April 5

Without complaining about the gorgeous winter we had, I just want to post some pictures of the massive spring snow storm we had.

Winter sowing - March 29

Okay, so not so much more winter sowing but late spring in Alberta sowing. I found this link on Pinterest  Pinterest- Winter Sowing.
I decided we'd have a lot more winter weather and that I HAD to try it!

The next day, SNOW!

Then lots more snow!

Fingers crossed it works!  It is supposed to help winterize your seedlings to be more acclimatized. Seedlings grow bigger and faster once spring comes.

Edmonton Valley Zoo - March 29

My sister and I and a couple of friends met at the Valley Zoo. Add on all our kids and we had quite the group.
We had gone to check out the new seal and sea lion exhibit at the zoo. Very nice and quite impressive. It'll be even nicer once the weather warms up and the animals can be outside.
The kids didn't care. They liked it any way.
Ask Jude and he'll tell you, his favourite part about the zoo? "The pelicans"
Funny.

Our zoo might be little, but it's cheap to get in and the kids can see everything in one visit.  Makes for one fun morning.

Reading - Mar 26

My mom snapped this cute picture of Elise after she found a quiet spot to read.
